The Postdoctoral Research Station in Pharmacy at Nanchang University was approved for establishment in October 2023, with the School of Pharmacy as its primary supporting unit. The Pharmacy discipline at Nanchang University is a key discipline according to Jiangxi Province's “12th Five-Year Plan” for higher education and serves as a focal area for innovation in biomedicine and health. It is also an industry-linked discipline under joint ministerial-provincial support. The program offers doctoral and master’s degree programs in pharmacy, as well as professional master’s degree programs. Pharmacology and Toxicology have entered the top 6.29‰ in the ESI global rankings, and the pharmacy program is designated as a National First-Class Undergraduate Major.
The discipline of Pharmacy is supported by a full-time faculty of 50 members, including a notable alumnus and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ding Jian, who serves as an honorary professor. Over the past five years, the faculty has undertaken 280 research projects at various levels, published over 500 SCI-indexed papers, obtained 29 granted invention patents, and received 10 research awards at the provincial/ministerial level or above, including 1 Second Prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
The discipline of Pharmacy is equipped with 12 high-level research and technology platforms. These include the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Biopharmaceuticals and Technology, along with key provincial laboratories such as the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacokinetics, the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Basic Pharmacology, and the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Drug Targets and Screening. Its facilities feature large-scale instruments, including confocal laser scanning microscopes, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) systems, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers, valued at approximately 120 million RMB. The total area of the laboratories amounts to 14,300 square meters.
