The Postdoctoral Research Station in Clinical Medicine at Nanchang University (hereinafter referred to as "the Station") was approved for establishment in 2007 and marked a significant breakthrough for postdoctoral research in the medical field of Jiangxi Province. It holds profound significance for the development of healthcare in Jiangxi Province.
The Station is primarily supported by the Clinical Medicine discipline at Nanchang University, which is a key discipline under the national “211 Project,” recognized as a first-class discipline in the construction of high-level universities in Jiangxi Province, and is aligned with industrial development through collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The Station operates from a strong institutional foundation, including the First Affiliated Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital, and other major comprehensive Grade AAA hospitals of the university, alongside its relevant research institutes. It boasts 16 National Key Clinical Specialties, 5 National Drug Clinical Trial Institutions, a Ministry of Education engineering research center, a Ministry of Education organoid resource bank, a Ministry of Education innovation center for basic research in molecular targeting of solid tumors, 2 collaborative innovation centers in Jiangxi Province, and over 80 provincial research platforms, including 15 Jiangxi Provincial Clinical Medicine Research Centers. The main research directions include internal medicine (cardiovascular, digestive, hematological, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, etc.), surgery (burns, urological, hepatobiliary, cardiothoracic, orthopedic, trauma and burn, etc.), neurology, pathology, medical imaging, oncology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, stomatology, rehabilitation medicine, anesthesiology, molecular medicine, precision cell therapy, immunology and inflammation, intelligent medical imaging, medical genetics and gene therapy, transfusion medicine, and nutrition and health management.
Since its establishment, the station has progressively built a team of supervisors with a scientifically sound structure and robust research capabilities, including 1 Ministry of Education Innovation Team and 9 Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Teams. Leveraging this robust team and high-level platforms, the Station has cultivated a group of outstanding medical science talents. This has not only provided key intellectual support for the innovative development of clinical medicine in the province's healthcare system but also laid a solid talent foundation for the high-quality development of Jiangxi's healthcare sector, injecting sustained momentum into the development of a Healthy Jiangxi.
Adhering to the principles of “Openness, Mobility, Collaboration, and Competition”, the Station recruits outstanding doctoral graduates from across the country each year to engage in research. It builds collaborative innovation platforms, encouraging researchers to focus on cutting-edge technologies in clinical medicine and tackle challenges related to national strategic needs and Jiangxi's socioeconomic development. By translating innovative outcomes to meet regional development demands, the Station provides robust support for advancing the clinical medicine discipline and fostering high-quality local development in Jiangxi Province.
